The History behind Sherwood Estates at Greens Farms
Back in 1853, Charles B. Sherwood was gifted seven acres of property by his father, Walter, and subsequently built a home on that land that same year. It changed hands a few more times until it was purchased in 1965 by Naiad and Walter Einsel, both notable illustrators and graphic designers. Naiad was outspoken about preserving historic homes and this passion led to her home, the house that Charles B. Sherwood built, gaining recognition in 2005 with a Preservation Award. Although the Einsels are no longer with us, their devotion to preservation continues to inspire our vision.
Drawing upon their legacy, we are dedicated to honoring Westport’s character while contributing to its evolution. We aim to create residences that not only celebrate the past but also enrich our neighborhood. Through thoughtful design and conscientious development practices, we aspire to create homes that foster a sense of belonging and pride among residents for generations to come.
